YapBetter

An AI teleprompter that coaches how you say it

Voice-follow scrolling is the easy part. YapBetter's AI also marks where to go louder, drop your pitch or pause, then checks if you did it.

What does "AI teleprompter" usually mean?

Usually it means voice-follow: the script scrolls as you talk and stops when you stop. That is useful, and YapBetter does it (in Chrome). But a teleprompter that keeps up with you still lets you read every line flat.

What does the AI do in YapBetter?

Before you record: it reads your script and adds cues

Paste your script and the AI marks it up. It picks the word to punch, the line to land low, the spot to stop for a beat, the phrase to slow down. You can change any cue by clicking the word.

It can also suggest text edits, for example a line that reads like an essay, or a phrase that sounds AI-written. Each one shows as a suggestion you accept or reject. It never rewrites your script without asking.

While you record: it listens and watches

The judge runs on your mic and camera. It tracks your loudness and pitch against each cue, your pace, your eye contact, your framing and your light. The cued words tick green when you hit them.

After the take: it tells you one thing to fix first

You get a score out of 100, split into Hook, Voice, Pace, Eyes and Frame. Then up to 5 fixes, sorted by how many points each one is worth, and a button to redo only those lines. The AI coach also lists your filler words with timestamps.

Why cues instead of tips?

Advice like "vary your pitch" is hard to act on mid-sentence. A green word sitting lower on the screen is easy: you drop your voice on that word. The voice modulation exercises post explains the idea, and the monotone guide shows it on real lines.

What runs where?

  • Video stays on your device. The face analysis runs in your browser.
  • Your script text goes to Google Gemini to make the cues.
  • The take audio goes to Google Gemini after recording, for filler words and coaching notes.

FAQ

Does the AI write my script?

No. You bring the script. The AI adds delivery cues and can suggest small edits you approve.

Which voice-follow browsers work?

Chrome. In other browsers, use fixed speed or manual scrolling. The cues and the judge still work.

Is the AI teleprompter free?

Yes, with no signup.

Can it catch filler words?

Yes. After each take the coach lists filler words like "um" and "you know" with the time each one happened. See how to stop saying um.
